Let the last day of school festivities begin! πŸŽ‰πŸ˜ Jenks Southeast Elementary had their last House Team assembly this morning, and it got a little messy! They revealed the winners of the last quarter and the overall winner of the year, which resulted in a teacher from the blue and purple team getting slimed! Afterward, students lined up on the track to give a fun farewell to all JSE 4th graders. What a great way to start the day, JSE!

We couldn't let the year end without recognizing the next wave of young writers! Students Jenks East Intermediate recently became published authors by participating in #NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writers Month) for the first time. With the help of Media Specialist Shelbee Chamberlin and Gifted Teacher Jamie Powers, these students wrote every word, went through an extensive editing process, and even designed the cover artwork themselves. Now these books are available for all students to check out and read in the JEI library. Nothing like seeing your hard work pay off!

Today, Jenks East Elementary 3rd graders experienced Lyric Theatre's interactive performance of Oklahoma. Before the curtain opened, these Trojans were belting the state song! 🌾 This production not only taught students history about our state but also gave them the experience of live theatre. One lucky JEE student even had the opportunity to play Gertie- and she did amazing! Thank you, Jenks Public Schools Foundation, for making this Growing Through the Arts Initiative for all 3rd graders possible!
