Dr. Stacey Butterfield

Dr. Stacey Butterfield became Superintendent of Jenks Public Schools in 2013 and oversees all operations in a district of 12,700 students and 1,700 staff members. A proud Oklahoman and member of the Jenks’ community, Dr. Butterfield is fiercely committed to continuing Jenks Public Schools tradition of excellence and to providing each student with an exceptional educational experience. For her outstanding leadership abilities and her dedication to creating opportunities for students, Dr. Butterfield was named the 2019 Oklahoma Superintendent of the Year by the Oklahoma Association of School Administrators.    

After starting her career in education as a first-grade teacher at Jenks East Elementary, Dr. Butterfield has served Jenks Public Schools as a Building Principal, Communications Director, Human Resources Supervisor, Assistant Superintendent, and Deputy Superintendent. Extensive experience as an educator and administrator has provided Dr. Butterfield with a unique understanding of the needs of students and teachers, as well as the knowledge required to effectively manage all business aspects of Jenks Public Schools.

Through her involvement in a variety of state and national organizations, Dr. Butterfield serves as an advocate for public education. She is a board member for the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA) and is serving as Past President. In 2023, Dr. Butterfield received the Oklahoma Youth Expo Chairman's Award in recognition of her support of agricultural programs at Jenks Public Schools and the Oklahoma Public Relations Association Superintendent of the Year Award. She represented JPS on State Superintendent Hofmeister’s Advisory Council and was recognized by Hofmeister in 2021 for her outstanding commitment and contributions to arts education. Dr. Butterfield was a member of Governor Fallin's Education Advisory Committee and was appointed by Governor Fallin to serve as a member of the Task Force on Improving the State Aid Formula.

In addition to her membership in multiple administrative and business associations, Dr. Butterfield has been routinely recognized by her colleagues and the community she serves. In 2020, the Jenks Chamber of Commerce presented Dr. Butterfield with its most prestigious honor, the Ed Gerchman Leadership Award. She received the Visionary Educator Award from the Junior Achievement Board of Directors in 2019, and she was named one of the 21 Women of Distinction by the Tulsa Business Journal. In recognition of her professional achievements, Dr. Butterfield was given the Carolyn Helmen Lichtenberg Crest Award from Pi Beta Phi National Fraternity, and in 2017, she was inducted into the Sand Springs Sandite Hall of Fame.   

Dr. Butterfield holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Oklahoma State University, as well as a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Oklahoma.
