We love to see Trojans getting involved in Jenks High School's annual DUB Week! During lunch this week, students could participate in activities like the car smash, inflatables, dunk tank, and other games to fundraise for the Jenks Community Food Bank. You can help these Trojans meet their goal by checking out their website and Donating yoUr Best. jenksdubweek.com

Sketching a dress, building it on a mini model, then bringing the dress to life in less than 2 weeks doesn't sound like much of a challenge. But what if the dress was made out of newspaper? Jenks High School students in Advanced Wardrobe Planning were tasked to create a recycled design using only newspaper, glue, and tape. They tackled this project effortlessly, and their creations are stunning. Incredible work, Trojans! #5AFriday #Arts

You most likely recognize Jenks High School senior Raymond Jiang from recently being named as the 2022-23 Mr. JHS, earning the prestigious distinction of being an Oklahoma Academic All-State Scholar, Prom King, and becoming a Coca-Cola Scholar.
This past weekend, Raymond attended the Coca-Cola Scholars Weekend in Atlanta, where he was given the opportunity to honor one of his teachers with an Educator of Distinction Award. He chose to present Paula Dennis, JHS College Counselor, with this award for not only helping him achieve his accomplishments but for assisting the entire senior class with navigating life after high school. Thank you, Paula, for putting time and dedication into the future of our Trojans. Congratulations!

Throughout the spring semester, 1️⃣4️⃣ JPS students have been given the surprise of a lifetime! Thanks to the kindness and generosity of The Swerve Foundation, the people at Justin Carlton State Farm, and the community partners who help give away free bikes and helmets to our Trojans. There's nothing like the pure joy and excitement of these lucky students! ❤️🚲

No big deal... Jenks Freshman Academy student - Kaytlin Flaherty - is one of 15 students selected out of 4,000 from around the country to have her short and funny story, qin ai de gu ma, represented at the National Chinese Expo of Student Works. Not only is she representing JPS, but she is also representing the state as the only student selected from Oklahoma! Kaytlin participated in the Chinese Immersion Program at Jenks Southeast Elementary starting in 1st grade and has since dreamed of traveling to China. Congratulations, Kaytlin, on this incredible achievement!

All of their hard work and dedication have paid off. Here are the valedictorians and salutatorians for the Jenks High School Class of 2023. Congratulations to these students on a truly remarkable achievement! 🎓👏

And your 2023 Mr. & Miss. JHS are....Raymond Jiang and Kirti Gowda! The faculty and staff members at JHS are so proud of every single one of these seniors - nominees and finalists. They truly capture what it means to be a Trojan. Congratulations, Raymond and Kirti, on receiving this prestigious award!

Setting a new standard. The girls 4 x 400 relay team didn't just break a record. They broke a record three times in one season and they might not even be done.
Rachel Cornell (junior), Gloria Granderson (sophomore), Olivia Granderson (senior), and Magnolia Crissup (junior) broke the school record when they ran 3:52.31 at Union. A few weeks later, the freaky fast foursome shattered their own mark by running 3:50.41 at the Texas relays. Not satisfied, they posted a 3:49.96 at their home meet for a third record-breaking performance. The latest time puts these Trojans as the 26th fastest relay team in the nation! Absolutely unreal. Congrats, ladies! #5AFriday #Athletics

The site visit at Jenks Middle School this morning was quite the adventure!
First, Dr. Butterfield visited Mr. Porter's room for a fun gravity and solar system experiment. From there, we stopped by the woodshop to observe students' using a saw to build a set of steps. Our last stop was in Mrs. Taylor's health and wellness class where students were observing nutrition facts on snacks to determine which was more healthy. Thank you, teachers, for letting us into your classrooms today!

7 Jenks High School student-athletes put the pen to paper and signed their letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level. Congratulations to these Trojans and their families! You make us so proud!

The Jenks Public Schools Board of Education voted to approve Thursday, June 1 as the last day of school for students in the 2022-23 school year. June 2 was the original last day of school on the instructional calendar. Because JPS used four of the five weather days built into the instructional calendar from January 30-February 2, the last day of school for students is shifted from June 2 to June 1.
Friday, June 2 will be a teacher workday at elementary and secondary sites.
Thank you!

After putting many after-school hours, dedication, and hard work into the robot they designed and built from the ground up, the Jenks High School Robotics Team- the Prime Movers- are set to compete in the Green Country Robotics Regional this weekend. These students are gaining experience like none other that will present excellent opportunities in their future. Good luck, Trojans!

Puppets + pop-up book read-aloud + dramatic play = so much fun!!
Kathleen Lyman, master puppeteer and storyteller, visited with our pre-k and kindergarten students across the district this week to encourage imaginative play and conversations! Together, she and the students performed Little Red Riding Hood using her puppets. Thank you to the Jenks Public Schools Foundation for providing this rich learning experience for our students!

The job goes well beyond checking out books and organizing shelves. Our incredible JPS librarians are inspiring a love of reading in our students. They are introducing students to authors and genres while finding new and creative strategies for enhancing literacy. They assist with technology, provide supplemental materials to classroom teachers, and create opportunities for students to thrive. We truly appreciate our hard-working librarians who are always putting students first! Thank a school librarian this week when you get the chance!

Out of over 800 classified staff members, these 17 employees were selected by their colleagues to represent all JPS sites and departments as the 2022-23 Classified Employees of the Year. There are so many roles essential to the day-to-day operations of our district and how we are able to serve our students and families. In their attitudes, attention to detail, focus on customer service, and dedication to making JPS the very best in Oklahoma, these members of our Trojan Family are truly deserving of this recognition. Please join us in thanking and congratulating our Classified Employees of the Year!
The District Classified Employee of the Year will be selected later this month.

A beautiful day for some beautification! Members of the JHS Student Body Leadership went to Southeast Elementary today to plant flowers with the younger Trojans as part of the DUB Week fundraiser for the Jenks Community Food Bank. Nothing better than seeing this kind of collaboration among our students!

You may remember when we recognized Jenks High School senior, Raymond Jiang, for being named a Regional Finalist for the Coca-Cola Scholarship last month. Out of over 91,000 applicants, Raymond has officially been named one of 150 Coca-Cola Scholars! Next month, he will be traveling to Atlanta to meet with the other scholars and be awarded a $20,000 scholarship. Raymond is the second JHS student to receive this exceptional honor since 2007. But hold on! That's not all of his incredible achievements!
Not only has he been named a Coca-Cola Scholar, but he has earned the prestigious distinction of being awarded a 2023 Oklahoma Academic All-State Scholar from the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence! Only 100 seniors are elected for all of Oklahoma and are selected based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community involvement, as well as letters of recommendation and an essay submitted by each nominee. Raymond will receive a $1,500 cash award, an Academic All-State honor cord and a medallion in May when he is recognized at the foundation’s Academic Awards Celebration.
Way to go, Raymond, on both of these outstanding achievements! We are so proud of you!
