Who will get a pie in the face?
Kids can donate during lunch.

Students are learning that publishing their work is a rewarding part of the writing process. After writing their personal narrative/memoir essays, these students were chosen as classroom winners to be featured on Mrs. Gunsaulis's classroom publishing wall. Great job authors! 📝

🥧Student Council's fundraiser, Pie a Principal, kicked off yesterday at lunch. Students choose which principal they'd like to see get a pie in the face at our pep rally on 11/22 and vote with their $!

Thank you Redeemer church for providing lunch for our JMS staff today! Yum!

Yesterday on Halloween, students in Mrs. Swift's 7-4 Science classes enjoyed a fun and tasty scientific activity! Each student started by hypothesizing which color M&M would be the most and least common in a fun-size bag. Then, they dove into the experiment—counting the M&Ms in their bags, collecting data, and sharing results. Together, they created a bar graph to visualize the findings and discussed the class results. It was a hands-on way to practice data analysis, and the Halloween treat made it extra sweet!

Congratulations to our classified and certified staff members of the month, Liliana Fragoso & Stephen Tillinghast!

Have fun and be safe tonight, JMS!🍭

Team 7-2 students—and their mad scientist teacher, Dr. Nolte—had a monster mash of science today! Spooky experiments in the lab packed the day with treats and tricks. But beware! These ghouls are no ordinary mindless zombies - they are frighteningly smart!

😱Hauntingly good 😱

Happy Halloween 🧡🖤🧡🖤

S P O O O O K Y!!! 🎃👻💀 (first post of many)

Thank you to all the parents who came out tonight to learn about teen brain development at our first parent night of the school year. Special thanks to our presenters Meredith Waddel and Emily Ervin.

Fusing science and fantasy, the bright young minds of Team 7-2 have crafted a legion of superheroes (and villains) inspired by the elements of the Periodic Table. Each character’s abilities showcase the unique properties of their chosen element. From electrical conductivity to radioactivity, every hero brings a distinctive skillset to the table *pun intended*. Visit our gallery to explore and learn from the students’ creations, now on display in the upstairs 200 Wing (only for limited time).

📚Author Visit!!! 📚
Today advanced ELA students and book club members heard writing and research tips from author April Henry. She even autographed their books! Students were captivated by her stories and inspired to continue writing themselves. April even stopped by our book fair where one of her titles is for sale!

This week, students in Mrs. Swift's 7-4 Science classes created a life-size Periodic Table of Elements as part of their Structure of Matter Unit. Each student selected an element, conducted background research, and created an element profile. The profiles were then arranged in atomic order to form a giant Periodic Table. It is on display in the downstairs 300 wing!
