The GRANDEST of openings! In celebration of its new store, and in support of local students and teachers, Burlington presented $5,000 AdoptAClassroom.org grant to Jenks Northwest Elementary! Over their eight-year partnership with the national nonprofit organization AdoptAClassroom.org, Burlington has supported more than 1.3 million students nationwide!

Jenks teachers are life-changers. Sure, they are preparing lessons and helping students understand concepts, but the job is so much more. They are encouragers, mentors, advocates, and listeners. They believe in your kids. What JPS teachers do for our community and our world cannot be understated or adequately summarized here. You know and understand the true significance of what these remarkable professionals have done for your child. Please join us in celebrating and appreciating our incredible educators, as well as our principals, counselors, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, child nutrition workers, and all support personnel, for answering the call every day and making a difference for the next generation.
Some of our NWE 3rd graders entered into a flood safety contest to help promote the NOAA National Weather Service "Turn Around Don't Drown" campaign. Students learned about flood safety and created artwork that visually represents flood safety procedures. The Oklahoma Floodplain Managers Association (OFMA) recognized 3 of our 3rd graders for their entries. One of our student's artwork will be featured in the annual OFMA calendar! Congratulations to our NWE students!
Junior Achievement volunteers visited NWE 3rd and 4th grade classrooms last week to help our students make connections between what they are learning at school to life outside of the classroom. Our volunteers taught our students about entrepreneurship and lessons focused on financial literacy. Thank you JA! @ja_oklahoma

Our Kindergarten students have been taking care of their class plant, Jerry, all year! They have been busy taking care of their new baby plants, cut from Jerry. . . giving each plant a name and writing stories about their new plant!
