On Fridays, Miss Wester's 4th grade class reads aloud to Miss Sykes 1st grade class during Book Buddies. Jenks Northwest 4th grader, Hannah Switzer, says she "loves reading to the kids!"

Last Friday, our Northwest Kindergartners filled the hallways and sidewalks with joy and excitement when they held their 2nd Annual Nursery Rhyme Olympics at NWE! Students and staff engaged in activities and events based on classic nursery rhymes, such as Jack Be Nimble, Little Bo Peep, and Hey Diddle Diddle. What a fun day!
Our 3rd graders had a great time in the STEM lab learning about flight. Their "Stop Rockets" really flew!
Congratulations to our very own Destinee Frazier on being awarded a Vision of Excellence award! A big thank you goes out to the Jenks Public Schools Foundation for recognizing these deserving educators!
Bus route details have been emailed to all parents/guardians who designated their student(s) as bus riders during enrollment/registration. Please check your primary email address for an email from "noreply@transfinder.com" which will contain your student(s) route information. Also, check your primary email address for an email from "no-reply@stopfinder.com" to activate your subscription to the Stopfinder app which will allow you to track your student's bus, receive notifications when the bus is nearby, and send messages directly to the JPS Transportation Department. Once you have clicked the activation link in your email, download the Stopfinder app from the Apple Store or the Google Play Store.

It's exciting, but also a bit overwhelming - especially for those students who are entering a classroom environment for the first time. No worries, mom and dad. We've got you covered. The GRANDEST of openings! In celebration of its new store, and in support of local students and teachers, Burlington presented $5,000 AdoptAClassroom.org grant to Jenks Northwest Elementary! Over their eight-year partnership with the national nonprofit organization AdoptAClassroom.org, Burlington has supported more than 1.3 million students nationwide!
