What a wonderful evening spent with our NWE multilingual families at our annual Family Engagement Event recently. Thank you to all who came for the fun!

This week we had the opportunity to welcome children’s book author and illustrator, Mike Boldt to Jenks Northwest. He shared stories, the creative process of writing and illustrating books and life lessons with our students. Thank you, Mike Boldt, for sparking creativity and imagination in our readers!

Last Thursday night, we had the time of our lives at our NWE Family Night! Thank you to all the staff for such a fun event, and thank you to all the families who came! I ❤ NWE!

Students in Ms. Sykes' 1st grade class had a special guest in their classroom last week. Former NFL Wide Receiver and current Jenks Coaching Staff, Willie Ponder, read to their class and talked with them about how to be successful and reach goals. Thank you for pouring into our youth, Coach Ponder!

Congratulations to our Jenks Northwest Elementary students who participated in the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Challenge Bowl in Okmulgee. These students have been preparing their knowledge of Creek language, government, and culture since September. Way to go, Trojans!

Ms. Fulkerson’s Kindergarten class has enjoyed exploring different jobs in their community as well as building their own box community. Hopes and dreams for their futures look bright!

DON'T FORGET! You are invited to an NWE Family Night tonight (Feb. 27th). This is a come and go event from 4:30 to 6:30.
Families will start at the back entrance and will engage in several different learning stations together. Hot Dogs will be served at the last station-a special New York style treat!
Hope to see you soon!

Mrs. Lacroix's Pre-K class is learning about community helpers and were able to have a special guest this week! Mrs. LaCroix's husband from Tulsa Fire Department brought the new ladder truck from Station 29! Students learned all about fire safety and explored the fire truck!

Introducing the 2024-25 Site Teachers of the Year! These educators were selected by their peers at each JPS site because of the way they connect with students, mentor colleagues, innovate in their classrooms, and consistently demonstrate the mission, vision, and values of Jenks Public Schools. These ten individuals are relentless advocates for students and public education. Our community is so fortunate to have teachers like these (and many others), who inspire our next generation of leaders with their genuine care and passion for what they do. Please join us in congratulating them!

Mrs. Hoog's PreK class visited the NWE STEM lab as part of their study of Community Helpers: the work of Engineers and Scientists. One student said, "I very liked building things upstairs". Other students expressed how they had to adjust their creations when their original ideas were not successful. Jaxxon said, "I put wheels on the base, but it did not roll straight so I had to use legs instead." Thank you to Ms. Janzen for welcoming our budding engineers into the lab.

Once again, JPS patrons have shown unwavering support of our students, staff, and our mission. JPS voters approved two separate bond propositions today totaling $19,600,000 by a margin of 81.4% to 18.6%. Jenks’ voters have now approved 61 of the past 62 bond issues for Jenks Public Schools. Your vote of confidence is deeply appreciated. These bond dollars will allow JPS to continue to provide exceptional resources, facilities, and opportunities to all students. Thank you, voters!

Polls are open right now and will stay open until 7 pm. Please go vote in the JPS Bond Election! Thank you!
