A junior at Jenks High School and a Jenks lifer, Abbey aced the exam on her first try. Congrats, Abbey! Sit back and watch those scholarship offers roll in!

JEE Community Crew- coming to a community near YOU! 🤝
Jenks East Elementary 4th graders stepped out of the classroom and into different organizations in our community to lend a hand to those in need. This service-learning field trip is to help students learn responsibility, empathy, and leadership hands-on. A few highlights from today's field trip include sorting and bagging supplies at Emergency Infant Services, playing bingo with seniors at Saint Simeon's Senior Community, and bathing puppies at the Tulsa SPCA. Excellent job, Trojans!

Open for biz-ness! 😄
This morning, Jenks East Intermediate 5th graders took a trip to Junior Achievement of Oklahoma's BizTown! There students held a town meeting, practiced depositing paychecks, and learned how to work in a variety of industries from banking to healthcare, technology, food service, journalism, and many more. Thank you to the Jenks Public Schools Foundation for making this extraordinary event and unforgettable experience happen!

Jenks teachers are life-changers. Sure, they are preparing lessons and helping students understand concepts, but the job is so much more. They are encouragers, mentors, advocates, and listeners. They believe in your kids. What JPS teachers do for our community and our world cannot be understated or adequately summarized here. You know and understand the true significance of what these remarkable professionals have done for your child. Please join us in celebrating and appreciating our incredible educators, as well as our principals, counselors, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, child nutrition workers, and all support personnel, for answering the call every day and making a difference for the next generation.

JHS Student Council is in its 6th year of bringing awareness and striving for change. This year, STUCO's annual philanthropy initiative focuses on mental wellness for the next generation of Jenks students. The goal is to raise $150k to build two outdoor courtyards at the high school for students to relax, play games, and connect.

School will start 45 minutes late at ALL JPS sites this morning. All morning bus routes will run 45 minutes later than normal. Intermediate sites will begin at 8:30 AM. Elementary sites will begin at 9:15 AM. Middle School, Freshman Academy, and High School will begin at 10:00 AM. School will end at the normal time this afternoon.

Things were heating up in the Jenks High School dining hall this afternoon. 🔥🍗 JHS principals and teachers lined up to do the Hot Ones chicken wing challenge to fundraise for the Jenks StuCo Dub Week mental wellness initiative. Students rallied together to raise enough money to up the heat of the hot wing to the spiciest sauce available. And honestly, they crushed it (all while dressed up as their favorite decade!)

This morning, members of the JPS Board of Education and administrators stepped into classrooms and media centers for an inside look into our school sites' learning and outstanding educational programs. Thanks to all the principals, teachers, and staff members who made this showcase possible!
