Things were heating up in the Jenks High School dining hall this afternoon. 🔥🍗 JHS principals and teachers lined up to do the Hot Ones chicken wing challenge to fundraise for the Jenks StuCo Dub Week mental wellness initiative. Students rallied together to raise enough money to up the heat of the hot wing to the spiciest sauce available. And honestly, they crushed it (all while dressed up as their favorite decade!)

This morning, members of the JPS Board of Education and administrators stepped into classrooms and media centers for an inside look into our school sites' learning and outstanding educational programs. Each stop was tied into the attributes and characteristics of the Portrait of a Graduate framework.
Highlights from the Spring Board Showcase include communicating and collaborating with grands in Jenks West Elementary's multiage program at Grace Skilled Nursing & Therapy, supporting students learning through multi-tiered systems of support at the Jenks Freshman Academy, developing POG attributes at the Jenks Alternative Center, exploring music with the Little Trojan Academy, and practicing effective communication and service learning in the community at Jenks East Elementary. Thanks to all the principals, teachers, and staff members who made this showcase possible!

Congratulations to all the nominees, the deserving finalists, and these two outstanding Jenks High School seniors. It was an amazing night! 👑

It's that time of year again- It's DUB Week at Jenks High School!
JHS Student Council is in its 6th year of bringing awareness and striving for change. This year, Jenks StuCo's annual philanthropy initiative focuses on mental wellness for the next generation of Jenks students. The goal is to raise $150k to build two outdoor courtyards at the high school for students to relax, play games, and connect.
Because of students, faculty, community efforts, DUB Week continues to increase year after year from a small philanthropy initiative to something far beyond what was previously imagined.
To help STUCO meet its goal, Donate yoUr Best at jenksdubweek.com!
Thank you to Jenks Public Schools Foundation and the Danny Christner Foundation for being DUB Week partners and helping our STUCO achieve its goal.

Lun Kim is in select company. The senior at Jenks High School is one of only 500 students in the entire nation to receive the Dell Scholarship. As a Dell Scholar, Lun receives: $20,000 per year on top of any scholarships already received (for 6 years), access to personalized support, a Dell laptop and book credits for four years, mental health and wellness support, and guidance for career success.
During her time at JHS, Lun has demonstrated the kind of drive, tenacity, and ambition common among all Dell Scholars. She is a proud member of the AVID program at JHS and plans to attend Oklahoma State University in the fall.
Special thanks to the counselors and teachers at JHS like Kirsta Meacham and Melissa Rumsey who have provided so much support and encouragement to Lun along the way!
Huge congrats, Lun! We are excited to see how you use this incredible opportunity to pursue and achieve your dreams!

Art students at Jenks High School made these stunning drawings and paintings for the recent Create For A Cause event to benefit Building All Children. Our friends at TTCU Federal Credit Union purchased these pieces and then donated the art back to the students. Proceeds from the sale of the artwork will be used by Building All Children to assist families and students with literacy needs. Amazing stuff, Trojans!

IT IS OFFICIAL!
The Jenks Public Schools Board of Education voted to approve Tuesday, May 28 as the last day of school for the 2023-24 school year. June 3 was the original last day of school on the instructional calendar. Because JPS used only one of the five weather days built into the instructional calendar on January 22, the last day of school for students is shifted from June 3 to May 28. Wednesday, May 29 will be a teacher workday at elementary, intermediate, and secondary sites.

Breaking News!
Students in Mr. Prince's Digital and Broadcasting Media classes at Jenks High School had the great opportunity to tour Griffin Media in downtown Tulsa. Our Trojans sat at the News on 6 anchor desk, made weather predictions on the green screen, and even got to chat with Alan Crone about anything and everything broadcast and weather related. They also explored and learned about the different radio shows and visited with Rick Couri and Hoot Owl. Thank you, Griffin Media, for providing this incredible experience for our Trojans!

Your opportunity to join our Trojan family and work in the best district in Oklahoma is quickly approaching!
Representatives from all of our school sites are ready to meet you and answer your questions. Don't forget your resume!
Attend the JPS Job Fair on April 9 from 3:30-5:30pm at the Education Service Center. We'll see you there!

6th graders at Jenks East Intermediate participated in an immigration panel today, telling their story of moving from another country and the struggles and sacrifices accompanied with making their American dream a reality. Their peers asked questions about their favorite foods, the different holidays, and musical instruments they had in their countries. Thank you to these students and teachers for giving us a glimpse into your journey to the United States!
