Today was the first Dynamic Dads event of the year at Jenks East Elementary, and the Dads showed up big, reading books, playing games, and making memories with their students! A huge thank you to Senator @Dave Rader for speaking to the dads and reading to Ms. Peper’s 2nd grade class. And thank you to all the dads who took time to be there. Your presence makes a difference!

What 👏 a 👏 jump 👏 into the 2025-26 school year! 🎉

This morning, all 1,700+ JPS employees packed the Frank Herald Fieldhouse for our annual Back to School Rally. From Dr. Butterfield’s unforgettable entrance to a Jenksified version of Jump Around by House of Pain, to the hilarious and inspiring words of Dr. Todd Whitaker, it was the perfect way to start the year together.

A huge thank you to our community partners, food sponsors, and volunteers who made this event possible, to Dr. Whitaker for reminding us to take the leap and make an impact, and to the Jenks Public Schools Foundation for sponsoring this year’s t-shirts. Here’s to a year of courage and making the jump, Trojans!

Over the next few days, bus route information will be sent to all parents/guardians who designated their student(s) as bus riders during enrollment/registration. Please check your primary email address for an email from "noreply@transfinder.com" which will contain your student(s) route information—stop location, pick-up and drop-off time, and bus number. Please visit the JPS Transportation page to watch the bus safety video and learn more about expectations for bus riders. Parents/Guardians are strongly encouraged to review this information with students before the first day of school.

The school year may be over, but the learning never stops at JPS! For the past couple of days, award-winning educator and inquiry expert Trevor MacKenzie has been working with over 50 of our Pre-K–6th grade teachers. He guided staff in sparking curiosity, building student agency, and supporting deep learning through inquiry-based instruction. His visit directly supports our Portrait of a Graduate, and we’re excited to bring these strategies into our classrooms! Thank you, Trevor, for investing in our staff members.

If you have not done so already, please complete Back to School Registration by this Friday, May 30. All returning students are required to update their information prior to the beginning of the 2025-26 school year. Failure to register your child for the 2025-26 school year could delay schedule pick up, meet the teacher, correct bus stop information and correct school assignment. Students who have been placed on hold due to residence can upload your proof of residence on your child's registration. If you have moved out of district, transfer applications will be available June 1, 2025 and MUST be submitted online. Transfer requests will begin being reviewed on July 7 and parents will be notified by email. All information regarding transfers is on the JPS website under "Enrollment." Go to jenksps.org for step-by-step instructions on completing registration. Thank you!

Shovels hit the dirt this morning as students, staff, and JPS Board members celebrated breaking ground on the final phase of the Jenks Freshman Academy renovation and expansion. Made possible by Jenks voters with their overwhelming passage of bond propositions, the new addition to the Freshman Academy is on track to open in August 2026. We are so thankful for the support of our entire community and our incredible partners at GSHelms & Associates Architecture and Crossland Construction Company, Inc. Together, we are building a better future for our students!

Their time at Jenks High School has come to an end. Here, they found friendships and discovered so much about themselves. They were challenged and tested and emerged stronger than before. The lessons and guidance they were given set them on a path to success, but what truly makes this feel like home is the people. The moments and the memories include their favorite people. Before they leave, these seniors have some parting words for this place and those who made it so special. WATCH: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tT5T_R9I-cQ
