The week of May 6th - May 10th is Teacher Appreciation Week!
Take a look at the ways that PTAG is encouraging us to show our teachers and staff some love and appreciation!

School will start 45 minutes late at ALL JPS sites this morning. All morning bus routes will run 45 minutes later than normal. Intermediate sites will begin at 8:30 AM. Elementary sites will begin at 9:15 AM. Middle School, Freshman Academy, and High School will begin at 10:00 AM. School will end at the normal time this afternoon.

Students submitted designs for the 2024 JWI Color Run t-shirts. Students narrowed down the finalists to one fifth-grade and one sixth-grade design. Finally, students were able to vote on the winning design. Check out Siera's (grade 5) t-shirt design that will be displayed on this year's shirt. Special shout out to all of the students who submitted their creative ideas!

IT IS OFFICIAL!
The Jenks Public Schools Board of Education voted to approve Tuesday, May 28 as the last day of school for the 2023-24 school year. June 3 was the original last day of school on the instructional calendar. Because JPS used only one of the five weather days built into the instructional calendar on January 22, the last day of school for students is shifted from June 3 to May 28. Wednesday, May 29 will be a teacher workday at elementary, intermediate, and secondary sites.

Hey amazing students, awesome families, and dedicated teachers-- SPRING BREAK is here! Let's take a moment to appreciate the hard work and dedication that brought us to this well-deserved break. Take care and have a wonderful break!

At the end of March, 6th grade will be participating in an art experience funded by the Jenks Foundation. As part of this experience, we are collecting recycled materials such as cleaned out plastic bottles, cereal boxes, tissue boxes, fabric scraps, empty pringles cans, etc.).
You can drop your clean, recycled materials off in the front office or have your student take the items to the 6th grade commons-- Each homeroom will have a designated box in the 6th grade commons.

Students in Mrs. Lack's math class were working together to answer one of life's greatest questions... "How many boxes of Girl Scout cookies can fit in the trunk of Mrs.Lack's car?" 🍪

Trojans, enjoy your Distance Learning day tomorrow. Take the opportunity to complete all of your assignments. Remember to take breaks and to fuel your brain with plenty of water and nutritious foods. See you on Monday!

This week, creative teachers combined some of their interests into their classroom to create a math experience that was simply 💎bejeweled💎. The class time was filled with solving problems, creating friendship bracelets, and singing together. What a fun way to practice distributive property!

***REMINDER*** Monday, February 19, is a Professional Day for JPS employees and there is NO SCHOOL. Enjoy the three-day weekend, Trojans!

There is no school for students on Monday, February 19th. All of your teachers at JWI will be engaged in learning and collaborating! See you on Tuesday, February 20th.

Dear JWI PTAG,
I wanted to drop a line and say,
Thanks a ton for Valentine's Day!
Your gift was rad, it hit the spot,
It really meant a whole lot.
