🏀 Math + March Madness = Learning in Action! 📊
The 3v3 Tournament might have been the highlight of the season, but the learning started long before the first whistle. Our teachers brought the excitement of March Madness into the classroom while strengthening students math skills! Using basketball data, teams were diving into real-world data analysis and practicing important concepts along the way.
Students were:
📈 Plotting and graphing player data
📏 Calculating mean, median, and mode for player heights
➗ Interpreting remainders in game-related scenarios
🔢 Exploring ratios and comparisons
💬 Communicating and collaborating with teammates to analyze results
By connecting math to something students love, they’re building strong data analysis skills while working together and thinking critically. Who knew basketball could be such a powerful math tool?

Our hallways were buzzing and our hoops were busy! Last week, our students hit the court for our March Madness 3v3 Tournament, all to support our incredible PTAG.
From coordinated colors to matching costumes, the "fit" game was just as strong as the jump shots!
We were so impressed by the teamwork and stellar sportsmanship displayed by every single player.
A massive THANK YOU to the volunteers who kept the clocks running and the energy high.

Meet the Teacher is Tuesday, August 12th!
You should receive a phone call from a JWI staff member( on August 8th or 11th) to schedule this meeting- if you haven't scheduled an appointment, please call the front office at 918-299-4415.
Make sure your registration is completed!
Entrance / Parking
The entrance for the MTT event is at the north end. Make plans to park in the north parking lot by the cafeteria/ by the bus oval.
Appointments
Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled meeting with the teacher.
You will have to check in and receive a Chromebook before you can go to the classroom.
If you don’t have an appointment, you must check-in at the front office.

If you have not done so already, please complete Back to School Registration by this Friday, May 30. All returning students are required to update their information prior to the beginning of the 2025-26 school year. Failure to register your child for the 2025-26 school year could delay schedule pick up, meet the teacher, correct bus stop information and correct school assignment. Students who have been placed on hold due to residence can upload your proof of residence on your child's registration. If you have moved out of district, transfer applications will be available June 1, 2025 and MUST be submitted online. Transfer requests will begin being reviewed on July 7 and parents will be notified by email. All information regarding transfers is on the JPS website under "Enrollment." Go to jenksps.org for step-by-step instructions on completing registration. Thank you!

Culture meets creativity in geography class!
To explore the concept of cultural diffusion—the spread of cultural elements from one group to another—students became global marketers for McDonald’s!
They researched the cultures and cuisines of countries around the world and designed new, culturally inspired McDonald’s menu items. From spicy samosas to sushi burgers, their creations blended global flavors with fast food flair.
