Tulsa Health Department: THD was very grateful that Jenks West participated in their Advocacy Campaign. As a thank you, they are gifting all PreK – 2nd grade classes with a “You, Me, Empathy” book for their classroom. These books have discussion prompts as well as activity ideas. Our 3rd & 4th grade classes will receive color-changing pencils for each student. JWE continues to be appreciative or our partnership with THD. @THDSchoolHealth

Young meteorologists in training! Students in Mrs. Brodeur's 4th grade class at West Elementary got a crash course in weather science from the team at NewsChannel 8. The students learned about how wind speed and damage determine tornado ratings and even got to launch a weather balloon to see how data is collected and used to create accurate forecasts. Thanks to NewsChannel 8 for creating this tremendous STEM learning opportunity!

In December we are open minded! An OPEN-MINDED student knows that all people are different. They listen to the points of view of others and consider many possibilities before making a decision. They celebrate the differences that make all people unique.
