Graduating Seniors had a special opportunity to attend an orientation at Tulsa Community College today and enroll in classes for the fall! Can't wait for these students to take this next step towards their future goals!
JAC math course students visited Finance Park this week. They had an eye-opening experience exploring credit scores, budgets, and career progression which will help them with their next steps after graduation!

Students in Mr. Berkinshaw's World Geography course got to experience some flavors commonly used in ice-cream in Japan such as wasabi, cheese, yam, sweet corn, and mayonnaise!
Last week, JAC students returned to the Eastern Area Food Bank for service learning. They packed over 6000 lbs of food items!!

Jenks Firefighters came to talk to JAC students about career opportunities, educational requirements, and their daily responsibilities as employees in the Jenks Fire Department.


Students in Life Skills II are learning to use sewing machines. A special guest, Ms. Combes's mother, came to offer support while the students begin to learn the machine stitches and practice on scrap fabric.
In Mr. Sweeney's science course, students used homemade solar ovens to heat up S'mores. A tasty way to end the trimester on February 13th!




Just the beginning. The February graduates of the Jenks Alternative Center put in the work and like those in the trimesters before, they fully embraced the family culture, smaller class sizes, and credit recovery process to achieve this milestone. Congrats to these grads and huge thanks to the JAC staff members who never waver in their support of students and loyalty to the program!

In addition to their teaching duties at JAC, Mrs. Lai and Ms. Combes are part of the coaching staff for Jenks Pom. Their teams participated in UDA Nationals in Orlando, Florida over the weekend. Jenks Varsity placed 1st in the Game Day division to earn their 2nd white jacket in 3 years.
Congratulations to Mrs. Lai for being chosen as JAC's Site Teacher of the Year!! We love you!
Today's Fun Friday Activity during Focus/ICAP time was hallway bowling. Class averages are being tallied to come up with a winning class who will get the coveted chicken trophy.
JAC students have been practicing their hula-hoop skills this week in order to compete for who can hula-hoop the longest. The representative from Mr. Martin's class won Top Hooper!
At JAC, we are in the middle of our 2nd trimester. A fun tradition on the last week of school before Winter Break are focus activities. Day 1: Lego Build Race; Mrs. Hall's class won!
