2025-26 Classified Employee of the Year - Jaime Resendiz Education Service Center

Jaime Resendiz, Insurance & Benefits Coordinator, is the 2025-26 Jenks Public Schools Classified Employee of the Year. Resendiz was selected by a committee of administrators and staff from a group of 17 classified employees representing each site and department in the District.

“It is so meaningful to me just to be able to work here and be a part of this community every day,” Resendiz stated. “It’s such a proud feeling to work for Jenks Public Schools, and I’m so thankful I get to serve our employees.”

Resendiz, who started working for JPS in 2009, has held positions in Finance and Human Resources. She worked as an Activity Fund Coordinator, Payroll Specialist, HR Specialist, and Insurance Clerk before taking her position in 2018. Resendiz helps JPS staff members navigate their benefits enrollment and works closely with insurance providers to guide staff members through coverage no matter what life circumstance they may be facing.

In the nomination form completed for Resendiz, Chief Financial Officer Cody Way said: “Jaime has a unique opportunity at Jenks to see and work with families at their highest peaks and lowest lows.  From working through the joys of retirement praising career accomplishments while discussing retirement plans to dealing with sickness, or loss and offering her guidance filing disability or death claims.  She is sincere with everyone she meets with and makes sure they leave her office feeling seen and supported no matter the situation.”

While fulfilling her responsibilities at JPS with selfless professionalism and an attitude of kindness and warmth, Resendiz also assists other school districts around Oklahoma and provides guidance for the State Department of Education to improve reporting and make insurance options easier to understand for public school employees across the state.

“A lot of people find insurance complicated,” said Resendiz. “When they call me or stop by my office for help, I feel like it’s a privilege to be able to give them understanding and peace of mind. It’s a great feeling to be able to help.”
