Jenks Public Schools would like to express sincere gratitude to Tracy Kennedy for her 12 years of dedicated service to the Jenks Public Schools Board of Education. Kennedy submitted her formal resignation at the August 11 Board meeting, citing recent changes in her life with a new employment position and devoting more time to assisting aging parents.
“It was an honor and a privilege to serve the JPS Board,” Kennedy declared. “This was not an easy decision because I have loved every minute of my time in this role. There is no doubt in my mind Jenks is the best school district in Oklahoma, and I truly believe there is no place like Jenks. I will always love this District, and I’m humbled I was able to play a part in supporting our students and employees.”
Prior to being appointed to the Board in 2013, Kennedy served in a volunteer role with the Jenks Public Schools Foundation for four years and chaired the annual Foundation Auction for two years. A Jenks lifer, Kennedy had two daughters, Sloane and Sophia, who also attended Jenks from kindergarten through 12th grade.
“Tracy Kennedy has been an exemplary Board member and a tireless advocate for our students throughout her tenure,” stated Dr. Stacey Butterfield, Superintendent of Jenks Public Schools. “In this volunteer capacity, she has worked closely with our administrators, staff, and fellow Board members to push our District forward and consistently act in the best interest of our students. While so many in our District have benefitted from her unwavering support, the Board of Education has been strengthened by her leadership and professionalism. We are so thankful for her service to the Board, and we wish her and her family nothing but the best.”
