Last weekend was a standout day for our students as they competed and performed in two very different, but equally impressive, arenas.
Circle the State with Song
Eight JWI students represented our school at the regional Circle the State with Song music festival. This annual event, sponsored by the Oklahoma Music Educators Association, allows 4th–8th grade students to participate in a high-level statewide music experience. We are so proud of the following students for their dedication and musical success: Gabriel Ayres, Peyton Barnett, Reese Bradley, Ava Brown, Brea Holmboe, Mercy Jacob, Kayli Stanaland, and Madeline Tripp.
Technology Student Association (TSA) Our 6th-grade TSA team competed in their very first mini-conference at Vanguard Academy in Broken Arrow. Under the leadership of STEM teacher Jaime Tanner, students competed in events ranging from Drones and Robotics to Tech Bowl. We are thrilled to announce that JWI brought home several awards:
Middle School Drones (3rd Place Overall): Brady Antigha, Anderson Lahey, and Sadie Manning.
Middle School Robotics (3rd Place Overall): Simeon Friel and Landon Stuemky.
Congratulations to all of these students for their hard work, bravery in competition, and commitment to their crafts!
