In February, Jenks Southeast students enjoyed an author visit from Tammi Sauer! Author of over 37 children’s picture books, Tammi lives in Edmond, OK. She visited with each grade level, sharing her ten tips for writing great stories and several of her most popular stories, including Wordy Birdy, Knock Knock, and The Underpants.
In the three weeks before her visit, all grades heard many of her stories, with each grade choosing a favorite in Library Book Battles. Students also had the opportunity to create illustrations of her characters to display in the library for her visit. JSE PTA was generous to not only fund the author visit but to also purchase one title for each student! We are so grateful for their continuous support of student learning here at JSE.
