Students holding projects at Meals on Wheels

For the month of November, Jenks Southeast partnered with Meals on Wheels for a gratitude service project! Each JSE student participated in our Green House Team service project by making placemats or cards for the homebound elderly, which will be delivered with their meals over the holidays. Students worked with their classmates to weave together a placemat and leave encouraging messages or drawings for the Meals on Wheels recipients.

Additionally, a few members of the Green Team were able to take a tour of the Meals on Wheels facility; they enjoyed seeing behind-the-scenes in the kitchens and offices that do so much for our community! We are so appreciative of our staff and Meals on Wheels who facilitated this service project and so proud of our students for the care that went into each placemat and card.

At Jenks Southeast, we greatly value instilling the importance of community service and gratefulness in our students. Service projects are a monthly activity tied to each House Team, beginning with Orange Team’s project in September, collecting school supplies for The Pencil Box. Next month, classrooms will begin collecting for the Trojan Tree project. Students on tour of Meals on Wheels facility
