Whitney Jennings and Lauren McKinney from Jenks PLAC, were the guest speakers of the Marvelous Moms event on Friday. Guests joined classrooms and shared a story about Teamwork and participated in small group discussions with students. We appreciate them taking their time to invest in our students! All In!
6th grade students have been working on creating a Theme Park during their STEM rotation. To wrap up their projects, they presented their hard work and creativity to several 5th grade classes. All In for JEI students!
With our first round of lunch clubs starting, we thought it would be fun to take a look back at one of our incredible lunch clubs from last school year. 5th and 6th grade students became published authors through the NaNoWriMo book writing and publishing club. These students worked all year to create their books.
During the 25-26 school year, twenty 5th graders published books, twenty-two 6th graders published and thirteen of those 6th graders published their 2nd book! Way to go JEI! We can't wait to see the books that are published this year!

The Jenks High School International Scholars Program hosted their annual Global Village at JEI this week. Students explored art, games, educational activities and listened to the experts teach them about countries and cultures around the world.

We recognize that there are students who are not able to purchase books each book fair. We partner with the community to help provide certificates for these students to get a book of their choosing through our Share the Fair Fund. We will have a cash donation box as well that families can donate to anytime throughout the fair. Tulsa City Councilor District 8, Phil Lakin, was the Dynamic Dads guest speaker. After the meeting, guests went to classrooms to participate in activities that were focused on our character trait of Inclusion. It was a great turn out and we appreciate all who came to JEI to spend time with students.
Last week, our 6th graders spent time exploring all things outdoors at Jenks Wild. The Jenks Public Schools Foundation helps to fund this incredible experience for our students. Students, parent volunteers and staff enjoyed hiking, fishing, canoeing, water study, a ropes course, participated in an engineering challenge, made paracord bracelets, and participated in outdoor team building activities. These experiences will surely make for wonderful memories for all!
