4th grade wax museum

Yesterday, Mrs. Neal-Spears 4th grade class held their annual Wax Museum! Students researched a famous person, wrote a report, and created display boards filled with information about their figure. The museum came to life as visitors pushed a button to activate each student, who then shared a speech as their historical figure. It’s a class favorite event every year!

Our site’s Gifted Education Coordinator shared, “What an incredible event! All students and parents were so proud!”

Students especially enjoyed bringing their figures to life. One student said, “My favorite part was dressing up as Mr. Rogers and making my hair white.” Another shared, “I loved researching Jane Goodall because she loved monkeys and so do I.”

Parents also shared how special the event was:

“Such a fun event! You could see the effort each student put into learning about their famous person, and they all stepped right into character. The Wax Museum is now one of my favorite elementary moments. Keep it up JEE!”

“The Wax Museum was incredible! The kids did an amazing job bringing history to life, and it was so fun to walk through and hear their presentations. Such a creative learning experience they’ll never forget."

"The Wax Museum project Mrs. Laura Neal-Spears facilitates each year is truly a core memory for JEE students. So much effort goes into researching and portraying important historical figures, and it’s wonderful to see the students step out of their comfort zones to present to parents, staff, and peers.”

Thank you to Mrs. Neal-Spears and her students for continuing this wonderful tradition and bringing history to life for our school community!
