Trojan Baseball Welcomes New Head Coach
Pending Board of Education approval, Jenks Public Schools is recommending Brian Walker to be the head baseball coach of the Trojans. Walker, a 2003 graduate of Union High School played collegiately at the University of Arkansas where he was a team captain for two seasons. Drafted by the Anaheim Angels, Walker spent four years with the organization making it is as high as Triple-A. After retiring from baseball, Walker served as an assistant baseball coach at the University of Arkansas (2010-2013) and at Wichita State University (2014-2017). Since 2019, Walker has been the head coach at Rogers (AR) Heritage High School. Walker leaves Heritage with an overall record of 110 - 53 and five consecutive appearances in the state tournament.
Jenks Director of Athletics Clay Martin stated, "we've hit a grand slam with Brian's decision to be the next leader of our baseball program. Our student athletes will benefit greatly from the experiences of his playing career and his multi-level coaching career. More importantly, our students will grow as young men from his proven ability to build, develop, connect, effectively communicate, and a create a culture of trust, humility, and belief.
