Jenks Public Schools Volunteer Program
JENKS PUBLIC SCHOOLS
PLEASE! Continue to log any volunteer hours!
Any volunteer work done remotely counts!
Jenks Public Schools is thankful for its many volunteers throughout our District! In order to ensure the safety of our students and to comply with school regulations, volunteer policies and procedures are required for every volunteer.
VOLUNTEER CONFIDENTIALITY TRAINING
Jenks requires all volunteers to complete a Volunteer Confidentiality Training every year. Completing these requirements gives everyone an opportunity to understand what is expected of them as volunteers and what they, as volunteers, can expect from the school. Completing this at the beginning of the school year will be beneficial to staff and teachers for whom you may volunteer. For security reasons, all volunteers must check in at Lobby Guard with their drivers’ license before beginning their volunteer service (including Field Trip volunteers.) They can do this at any site during the school year. Volunteer badge must be worn during volunteer service. Click on the link to complete the training.
RECORD VOLUNTEER HOURS
LOG volunteer hours! Enter total volunteer hours by site. Keeping them recorded monthly is recommended in order to eliminate trying to remember how many hours you volunteered at the end of the year. The recording of volunteer hours is necessary since we are required to provide the number of volunteer hours by site for the District’s State School Report Card. The documentation of hours may also assist school and district leaders in determining where additional support may be needed. Please log any hours per site by June 15. Click on the link to record hours.

See below for the volunteer protocols.
The Pandemic Recovery Taskforce determined that volunteers would be allowed in the buildings to complete tasks that had been preapproved and requested by school site leadership. We also are allowing fundraisers. However, those fundraisers need to be carefully thought through to allow for social distancing and other health protocols. An example would be a site wanting to do a spirit night at a local restaurant would be fine. An example of a fundraiser that is NOT allowed would be Freckles Friday. That is a consensus among principals with concerns about shared/buffet type serving of food. In general, the PTA(G) leadership is to continue to work closely with the site principals on planning.
PTA/G leadership, I know you’ve been working with your sites. Please continue to do that and follow all health guidelines.
- Take your temperature beforehand and do not come into building if you have a temperature
- Wear a mask
- Follow social distancing
- Wash hands frequently
In addition, make sure your volunteers have completed the online Confidentiality Training for 20-21. Continue recording those volunteer hours! Please forward this information to anyone that needs it. Thank you!
NEW VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY - VIRTUAL!
Reading Partners is actively recruiting reading tutors for Northwest Elementary and East Elementary this year. This is an online tutoring program that helps meet the needs of schools, students, and communities. All you need is a little over an hour a week and access to a PC, Mac, or Chromebook computer with a reliable WIFI connection, functioning webcam, and microphone.
This is a wonderful way to connect with volunteering and help students during this unprecedented time! Reading Partners provides training and you can choose which site you’d like to volunteer with. They will help set your schedule after you’ve completed the training.
Please click on the links below to view the flyers that describe what Reading Partners is all about and the volunteer process. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact the email or phone number listed in the flyers.
You can also view this video which gives an overview of their virtual tutoring platform, Reading Partners Connects.
