2023 Jenks Volleyball Tryout Information

REQUIREMENTS:

1. You must be an enrolled and accepted student of Jenks with an ID number (lunch id number).  Please be sure to have the correct ID number, working cell phone numbers, and emails for parents as well as student athletes. 
2. Please arrive early to receive a tryout number and make sure all registration info is correct.
3. Players need to be dressed in ATHLETIC attire and COURT SHOES to try out.  KNEE PADS NOT MANDATORY, BUT ENCOURAGED. 
4. Please be serious about trying out, making a team, and committing to: summer camps, workouts, fundraisers, practices, matches, booster club, the program, and tournaments.  Summer workouts are required for Middle and High School Volleyball Athletes and start June 1.  Practices begin July 17th for all teams.
5. Must have grades within good standing.  NO Fs as it would make you ineligible for athletics. *Athletes who were in our program should refer to grade expectations which were gone over at the parent/player meeting last year.  Students should not have been on the ineligibility list more than 4 times.
6. We expect parents/players to participate in Booster Club whether volunteering, concessions, heading up a committee, and participating in fundraising events, or events in general in which they host. 

TRYOUT DATE/TIMES:

7th Grade- (current 6th Grade)

May 8th, 9th, 10th 3:00 PM-5:00 PM  @ Trojan Activity Center 

*A shuttle will be provided to transport athletes from JEI and JWI to the Trojan Activity Center.  Parents pick up their child by 5:00pm at the Trojan Activity Center on Main Campus Bus Loop.

8th Grade- (current 7th Grade)

May 10th 5:30-7:30 PM @ Trojan Activity Center

May 11th-12th  4:15-6:15 PM @ Jenks Middle School

9th Grade- (current 8th grade)

May 17th 4:15-6:15 PM @ Jenks Middle School

May 18th 4:30-6:30 PM @ Trojan Activity Center

10th,11th,12th Grade- (current 9/10/11th grade)

May 18th-19th 4:30 - 6:30 PM @Trojan Activity Center

Process for Current Jenks Public Schools Students WITH a Valid Student ID Number

If the student in question has a current Jenks Public Schools Student ID Number, then they or their parents are welcome to contact our head volleyball coach directly via email at Tanna.Smith@jenksps.org to discuss joining the program.

Process for Students Transferring into District

If you are considering transferring into the district and do not have a JPS student ID number yet, you are not allowed to speak with our coaches due to OSSAA policies on recruiting.

We ask that you contact the athletic department (Trojan.Athletics@jenksps.org or 918-299-4415 x2214). We will provide you with information on our volleyball program or set up a meeting with the athletic director if needed. You will continue going through our department staff for your athletic needs until you move into district and obtain a current student ID number. At that point, we will get you in touch with our coaches.
