Officer Brandon Bird is the 2021-22 District Classified Employee of the Year!

Officer Brandon Bird of the Jenks Public Schools Police Department is the 2021-22 District Classified Employee of the Year! Officer Bird was selected out of 17 nominees representing all school sites and departments across the District. Whether working directly with students or providing support behind the scenes, all classified employees at JPS play a critical role in shaping the educational experience for students.

After serving with the Fort Smith, Arkansas Police Department for 17 years, Officer Bird arrived at JPS in 2019. The investment he makes into the lives of students has helped him build trust and earn the respect of his colleagues and peers across the District. Officer Bird visits multiple sites every day and says the best part of his job is connecting with students.

“I may be the only positive interaction a student has with an adult on any given day and it’s important to me to show these kids how much I care.”
