Class of 2020 Attends "PrepYou" Senior Conference
The College and Career Office at Jenks High School, in conjunction with the Jenks Public Schools Foundation and Chick-Fil-A Tulsa Hills, organized the second annual “PrepYou” Senior Conference for all 12th grade students at Jenks High School.
The conference took place on Friday, November 8, and after an opening presentation from Jill Donovan, Rustic Cuff Founder and CEO, the seniors traveled to the campus of OSU-Tulsa to attend sessions focused on college and career readiness. The 30 separate sessions were grouped into three categories - Prepping for Adulting, Prepping for Campus, and Prepping for Career. Examples of topics included: Building a Business, Real Life Skills, Social Media Career, Job Interview Tips, and Managing College Financial Aid.
All 790 seniors in the JHS Class of 2020 attended the conference. Speakers from a variety of community organizations, businesses, and educational institutions shared their insights with students.
“We are thrilled to be able to create this conference for our senior students and provide them with such a wide variety of speakers and topics,” stated Eric Fox, Associate Principal at Jenks High School. “We are grateful for the financial support of the Jenks Public Schools Foundation and to every one of our community partners for making this possible. This experience ties in directly with our emphasis on college and career readiness, and I know our seniors enjoyed a very valuable and memorable experience.
