Secondary Gifted Services
* Identified gifted students in grades seven through twelve receive services in Pre-Advanced Placement or Advanced Placement courses, advanced math, or advanced languages.
*In addition, students are placed in either 7th-grade math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, or Algebra II and beyond depending upon their readiness as determined by the Iowa Algebraic Aptitude Test and the Orleans Hanna test. (The IAAT and OH are given to students who display aptitude in the area of mathematics and qualify to test on our math matrix as early as the end of their fourth-grade year.)
* A wide variety of challenging courses, in addition to Pre-Advanced Placement or Advanced Placement courses, are available in all academic areas to provide opportunities for students to pursue their academic strengths or interests.
* Concurrent enrollment in college coursework is available for qualified high school students.
* Academic competitions, as well as extra-curricular activities, offer opportunities for gifted students to pursue both their academic strengths as well as other interests.
