Media Center Grades 3 & 4: Library Policies
Welcome to the school library media center at West Elementary Building F. We serve over 600 third and fourth graders as well as staff members by providing over 10,000 items in a variety of formats. The AIM of the Jenks West Elementary school library media center is to assist and support our students and staff in becoming effective users of ideas and information. The library media center provides services and materials that support the district and school curriculum, the teachers, and the individual needs of students. The library media program strives to foster information literacy, promote growth in knowledge, and encourage a love of reading.
Hours of Operation The media center is open every week day from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM and by appointment during the school year. It is closed on school holidays and during the summer.
Circulation Policy Students are invited to visit the library media center often and are encouraged to take their library books home. They may have two books checked out at a time and may keep them for two weeks. Books may be renewed as long as there is not a "hold" placed on an item. There are no fines for overdue books. However, should a student have an overdue, damaged, or lost item, he/she will lose borrowing privileges. There will be replacement charges for lost or damaged items.
