Classroom Interventions for Students with ADHD


Preferential seating: Seat the student in a designated area that minimizes distractions to the student. For example, seat the student away from doors, windows, or peers that may distract the student. 

Teach core subjects or new concepts in the morning rather than the afternoon. 

Provide stretch breaks between assignments or subjects. Allow the student to take a quick drink break, go to the restroom, or stretch near his/her desk. 

Allow students who are restless and fidgety to use a "fidget toy" such as a squeeze or squishy ball,
