Welcome to my website where you'll find information and updates about things happening in the classroom, at our site, and across the district.

The Title I program at Jenks East Intermediate offers extra support to student that need additonal support in reading and math.  Title I students receive support in either a small group setting or in their regular classroom.  Throughout the year the Title I program will offer a variety of family events.  Most of these events will take place in the evening.  These are casual gatherings where student achievement and family participation are celebrated.

Questions and Answers about Title I:

What is Title I?

Title I is the largest federally funded program for elementary and secondary schools which supports services designed to improve the educational performance of students working below grade level expectancy.

How do students receive Title I services?

The students may be served through pull-out labs and/or by the specialist going into the classroom.  Great effort is given to coordination between the regular classroom instruction and the Title I program, giving students the support needed for success throughout the day.

How do the teachers and parents communicate?

Title I Advisory Board - This board is made up of a representative of the Title I staff, classroom teachers, parents and administrators.  They meet during the year to review the District and Site Plan and to provide helpful ideas for program improvement.  If you are interested in serving as the parent representative, please contact me.

Phone Calls and Email - Parents are contacted at the beginning and end of the school year.  As the need arises during the year, other phone calls or emails may be needed.  Communication between the school and home is crucial in assuring a successful year for the student.  luanna.galles@jenksps.org

Parent conference -Title I teachers communicate regularly with classroom teachers and are available to attend parent conferences scheduled by the classroom teachers.  Additionally, conferences may be held throughout the year at the request of the parent.
