Easy ways parents can help support academic growth:

1.  READ TO YOUR CHILD EVERYDAY!!!  No matter how young your child is, reading aloud stimulates many areas of the brain.  It's also a great way to spend quality time with your child each day.

2.  ALWAYS KEEP BOOKS IN YOUR CAR, within your child's reach.

3.  COUNT!

You can count at snack time (gold fish, crackers, pieces of fruit or cereal, ...)

You can count cars in driveways on your street.

You can count pennies from your purse or pocket (and then count them again as you put them in a piggy bank!)
