I am happy to start my sixth year of counseling at Jenks West. I am excited about working with K-2 students in building A. I began my career in education 20 years ago as a classroom teacher. I taught for 10 years, then took time off to be home with my two children, who are now in 7th and 9th grades. During that time I received my Master's Degree in School Counseling from Northeastern State University. I am so excited to be using my education as well as my experience as a mom to work with the great students at JWE.
As a counselor, it is my goal to see that students develop positive attitudes toward self, school, family, and community. I work closely with teachers to develop plans to help each child succeed. I also work with students in small groups and in classrooms to address issues such as behavior, anger, divorce/loss, and friendship.
Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have a concern about your child.
