Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Friends,

We are approaching state testing for third and fourth grade students and we need your help!  Please consider signing up to be a test monitor.  Each classroom or lab setting in which testing takes places requires an individual other than the test administrator to be present in the testing room.

The dates for testing are April 10th , April 11th , April 14th, and April 15th.  Please consider signing up for one or more of these dates!

The time is from approximately 8:30am until 11:30 am.

Please follow the link below to sign up or you may contact me at:

P.E. Teacher 3rd & 4th grade.

This was our Heart Hero Wall in building “F”. The third and fourth graders used post-it notes to write who they were jumping for.

A huge SHOUT OUT and a great big “Thank You” to the first, second, third, and fourth graders at Jenks West Elementary for raising $36,868 , during our annual “Jump Rope for Heart.”   Of that, we raised over $13,000 online, which is tops in the state. I have no doubt our grand total will be tops, as well! I guess the “ducks” worked, (although they drove us a bit crazy keeping track of them) as we dramatically increased the number of students donating.

A little bit of history:

Over the past 14 years, Jenks West Elementary has donated over $238,000 towards the fight against heart disease in Oklahoma! We are very proud and fortunate that so many of our Jenks West Families feel strongly about donating to this worthy cause.

The top money raising classes this year were:

          1st  grade                Green with $1,314.58

          2nd grade                Fitzgerald with $1,280.30

          3rd grade                 Beyer/Goss Jenks Multiage with $870.00

          4th grade                 Carrington with $1,890.00

The top money raising student was Eduardo Pereyra with $825, from Mrs. Evans’ class.

A total of 694 first-fourth graders raised $35,600 – absolutely phenomenal!

Thank you gifts/prizes were ordered March 7th and should be back in about 4-6 weeks.  These will be distributed during PE class once they arrive.

Looking to the future:

Parents, teachers, & students are encouraged to offer any ideas that could help make our 2015 Jump Rope for Heart  as successful as this year’s was.  Please email our JRFH Coordinator at:  suzanne.cyrus@jenksps.org or call at 299-4415 X5631.

Thank you to our students, staff and patrons for helping us with this worthwhile community service project every year – together we make a difference.

With Gratitude,

Read a special note of thanks from Brandy Miller, American Heart Association Youth Market Director of  Eastern Ok:

First of all, WOW WOW WOW!

I am so amazed by the compassion and generosity of your students at Jenks West Elementary.

Suzanne, Laura Lynn and Nikki are doing a fantastic job at sharing the mission of the American Heart Association with their students.

I am VERY proud to be involved in this remarkable and historical year of Jump Rope for Heart!

One of the ways we give back to our schools for their hard work and dedication to their JRFH Event is by issuing U.S. Games Gift Certificates based off of the amount raised.

I am so excited to announce that Jenks West will be receiving $3,200 in U.S. Games Certificates for any P.E. equipment they choose to order!

Congratulations to you all and THANK YOU for allowing this life-saving fundraiser at Jenks West. The funds raised will help so many people in need, as well as helping your students learn the value of community service and allowing them to have new P.E. equipment to keep them active during gym class for years to come!
