Congratulations Lisa Green
Jenks West Elementary
2013-14 Teacher of the Year!
Lisa Green is a first grade teacher. Lisa graduated from Harding University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She is currently working on her master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Northeastern State University. She also has a certification in special education.
Lisa has taught for 5 years at West Elementary as a Kindergarten teacher and this year took the opportunity to “loop” with her students to first grade. Lisa has the gift of differentiating instruction for students. The past few years, she has taken on the responsibility of working with a cluster of special education students within the confines of her regular education classroom.
During her time at West Elementary, Lisa has served in the role of team leader and intervention coordinator. She has also taken part in the Jenks/Union Writing Cohort and the Teaching and Learning Leadership Development Program. She was part of the social studies curriculum committee last year. She has led many professional development opportunities for teachers at West Elementary as well as for teachers at the district level. She is an instructional leader in the area of teaching through inquiry experiences.
Lisa and her husband are the proud parents to three year old, Reid, a “future Trojan”. In addition to teaching for Jenks Public Schools, she also serves on the leadership team of her church.
West Elementary is proud to call Lisa Green their teacher of the year!
Keep saving those Box Tops
Jenks West Elementary WOW!
Box Tops For Education (BTFE) has ranked West Elementary #1 in the state of Oklahoma out of 1,331 schools as of November 1, 2013, for the 2013-14 school year! We ranked 35th in the Nation out of 90,632 schools. By collecting and saving box tops, Jenks West Elementary students, staff, and families have earned $5,273.10 which will funnel directly into our classrooms to pay for field trips, magazine subscriptions, school-wide agendas, and supplies for our classrooms!
All Jenks West Elementary students that participate in at least 3 races during the 2013-2014 school year will get their picture taken for the yearbook.
Take proof of participation to your childâÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂs PE teacher for it to count.
