With just four years under my Jenks School District belt, I'm already a lifer. I am extremely impressed with this school district. I am thrilled to be at Jenks Southeast and excited as can be about teaching 4th grade. I enjoy working with such a dedicated staff, adorable students, and supportive parents. I feel so blessed to be apart of the Jenks Southeast Community.
I grew up in Pryor and graduated from Pryor High School in 1992. I graduated from Northeastern State University with my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education in December 1996. Afterwards, I obtained my first teaching job in Pryor, OK. I taught in Pryor for 14 years. Due to my husband's job in Tulsa, our family needed to make a move to the Tulsa area. My district of choice was Jenks. I admire their value on education and want not only to help contribute to their success, but put my own two children in that kind of a motivating environment.
I believe that each child is capable of learning. I challenge myself each year to meet each child's individual needs. I spend a great deal of time getting to know each student to the best of my ability. I firmly believe that when relationships are formed students are more motivated. I provide an atmosphere that is conducive to learning. I create a community that is accepting of all learning levels and styles. I expect a lot from my students and my goal is for each child to expect a lot from themselves! I challenge my students to have a desire to acquire as much knowledge as they possibly can. I tolerate only a safe place where each child feels safe to explore and learn.
