ICE & ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
When hazardous road conditions exist or when an emergency situation arises, alternate bus routes may be used. As winter approaches, drivers will distribute information regarding the "pick up" points that will be used for ice routes. Students should use the nearest "pick up" point. There is a possibility that the bus and driver at that stop will not be the same bus and driver the student is accustomed to seeing; however, they should ride that bus anyway.
Because of the safety and traffic issues which result from inclement weather, the school district encourages all students to ride a bus when road conditions are hazardous. School bus data reports that buses are safer than passenger cars during inclement weather. Local radio and TV stations broadcast information regarding school closings and other events which may effect students. Please listen to those reports for accurate, up-to-date information.
