JHS Seniors of the Month - October

Caroline Cremin, daughter of Timothy and Stacey Cremin, is the October Senior of the Month.  She is president of National Honor Society, captain of the cross country team, and the senior representative on Football Spirit Committee.  She also is a member of Spanish Club, Spanish Honor Society, and Pre-Med Society.  Outside of school, Caroline serves our community by volunteering at the Animal Rescue Foundation of Oklahoma, and is an active participant in the Oklahoma Indian Council for Education’s Honor Society, as well as a member of Life Church.  She plans on majoring in biology next year but is undecided on the university.

Jared Kuykendall, son of Kara Kuykendall and Jim Kuykendall, is the October Senior of the Month.  He plays on the varsity Basketball team and participates in Student Council, National Honor Society, Drug-Free Youth, National Spanish Honor Society, Spanish Club, and DECA.  Jared is on the Redeemer Covenant Leadership Team, and has served as a basketball coach for an Indian Nation Basketball Conference team.  He plans on attending Oklahoma State University next year in pursuit of a finance degree.

 
 

 

20 JHS Students Named National Merit Semifinalists

The National Merit Scholarship Corp. announced this week the semifinalists for the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program, and 20 students from Jenks High School are among the 16,000 names on the list. 

Jenks is one of four high schools in Oklahoma with 10 or more semifinalists and one of only two high schools in the state to have 20 students qualify. 

The nationwide pool of semifinalists represents less than 1 percent of all high school seniors. National Merit finalists will be announced in February.
