Hi! Welcome to 5th grade! I am very excited to be your teacher this year!
I was born in Nashua, New Hampshire. At the age of 3, I moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where I was raised. I attended the University of Northern Colorado, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, with an emphasis in English as a Second Language. I graduated in June 2013 with a Master’s degree in Teacher Leadership from Colorado State University.
This is my seventh year of teaching! I substitute taught at a preschool in Academy School District 20 in Colorado Springs; and taught in Cherry Creek School District since August 2008 where I taught 4th grade interventions at Cimarron Elementary. I transferred to Dakota Valley Elementary and taught in 3rd grade for 4 years; one year at 1st grade and then I and jumped back to 4th grade.
My husband, James, was re-located to Tulsa, Oklahoma for his job. I met with Linda Reid and fell in love with East Intermediate! We have two and 1/2 adorable fur-babies. Kirby is our 7 year old black lab, and Coco Chanel, our chocolate lab, is 3 years old. We also have a miniature dachshund, who weighs a whole 7 pounds and is named Elise.
What do I enjoy doing in my free time? H, snowboarding, biking, roller blading, playing at the dog park with our dogs, going to the movies and going for motorcycle rides on our Harley, We can't wait to see what Oklahoma has to offer. I LOVE to shop and eat out, especially love Mexican, Italian and Asian cuisine. I am a die-hard Broncos fan... born and raised. My Grandfather paved the parking lot of the Old Mile High Stadium and we have been ticket holders ever since, On Sunday’s you will find me parked on my couch watching football. Photography is my secret passion. I also love to spend some quiet time reading a great book!
I'm so excited to be teaching 5th grade math and science this year; and I am looking forward to getting to know your child and you! Please feel free to email, call, or stop by anytime!
