How to Apply
Application Information for School Year 2012-2013
- Student Interviews will take place at East Elementary & Southeast Elementary March 26-March 30, 2012. These dates are flexible and make-up interviews will be scheduled as appropriate.
- Applications are available at the following locations:
- East Intermediate main office
- East Elementary 4th grade building main office
- Southeast Elementary main office

- Deadline for all applications: March 30, 2012.
- For those students who have met the qualifications on the STA Application Matrix.
- Applications can be returned to the East Intermediate Main Office or mailed to:

After application has been returned to Kate Quinton, the following will take place:
- Teacher Checklist will be sent to applicant’s 4th grade teacher
- Informal Student Interview will be scheduled at each elementary site
- Student Selection Committee reviews applications
- Quantitative data, such as 3rd grade CRT L.A. & Math, STAR–mid-year assessment, first semester report card, attendance record, tardy record and qualitative data will be placed on a matrix. The number of matrix points accrued will be used to determine if a student qualifies for the lottery
- 124 student slots available
- All applicants will receive a notification letter in mid-April

- Commitment of Understanding
- STA Orientation for both students and parents
- Expanded school day and school year
