US Senator Jim Inhofe’s office notified JPS that it had been chosen as a recipient
of a three-year Sino-Trojan Project Grades 5-12 FLAP Grant (Foreign Language
Assistance Program), almost $1,000,000. The purpose of this federally funded grant
is to support and encourage the learning of Chinese language Grades 5-12 beginning at
EI with the Sino-Trojan Academy (STA).
So, what is the Sino-Trojan Academy?
In a nutshell, it is the integration of the best practices of the Chinese educational
system/culture with the best practices of our American educational system/culture
focused around the instruction of Chinese Language. STA will begin with 5th grade
students for the school year 2010/2011. The pursuit of excellence at JEI continues!
