Alison Dalton, 1st grade

Welcome to Jenks East Elementary First Grade.  I am very happy to be teaching first grade in the Jenks Public School District.  First Grade is my favorite grade to teach! This year is another foundation building year for the children. We will have an awesome year and I look forward to teaching your child!

I graduated from NSU in Early Childhood Education.  My certifications are early childhood and elementary education.  I have been teaching for over twenty years in Pre-K through Fifth Grade.  I have experience as a teacher in Public Schools  and other private schools.  I am married and I am a mom.  I am a teacher and a friend!  Our family pets have been dogs, cats, birds, fish, gerbils, hermit crabs, and bunnies.  I enjoy connecting science and nature to the student's learning in all subjects!  The outdoors is a great place to walk, run, play, and learn!

I have a love of teaching first grade students because they are so curious and ready to learn!  It is important for me to provide a nurturing and an optimum learning environment for your child.  The class will be learning the essentials of first grade skills in a variety of ways.  The students will be learning the necessary skills as they engage in whole groups, small groups, and individual activities.  The children will learn first grade skills in all subject areas by hands-on activities, individual practice, differentiation materials, and meaningful assessments.  My hope is that the students will love to read about everything!  This year we will read, read, read!

Most importantly, I want to provide a wonderful first grade learning experience for each child.  I encourage parents to participate with their child's learning and we will work together to make this a successful and fun year.  There will be many wonderful opportunities for parent involvement in our teaching community.

See you soon!
