Welcome to Pre-Kindergarten!

We are excited to have your child in our Pre-Kindergarten program at Jenks East Elementary.  Our goal is to provide a safe learning environment that meets the needs of each one of our students.  Your child’s Pre-K year will be filled with enriching, hands-on learning experiences!

Our Pre-K program is in session from 8:15am to 3:00pm.  Students may not arrive earlier than 8:00am.  Please help us ensure that your child has the opportunity to fully participate in the school day by making sure he or she is present and on time.  Our teachers have the students engaged in learning activities beginning at 8:15.  It is very important that your child is present in order for us to provide the learning experiences they need to achieve academic and social success.  If your child is absent, please notify the office by calling 299-4415 ext. 5509.

You are welcome to walk your child to class before school.  Parents must park in a designated parking spot before walking children inside.  You may also drop your child off in front of building B by staying in the designated lane in front of building B.  Staff members are on duty daily to assist your child from the car to the classroom.

When you visit any building on campus, you must sign in using the Lobby Guard school security system.  You will need to bring an ID and allow for ample time to go through this process.   If you need to pick your child up before the instructional day is over, please report to the office.  Punctuality in picking your child up at the end of the day is appreciated.  The Pre-K teachers and ECAs will escort the children to the designated pick up areas and assist the students to your car in the pick-up lane.

You are an integral partner in your child’s educational process and we appreciate you being part of our team.  Your child’s teacher will communicate with you about curriculum and your child’s progress on a regular basis through newsletters, notes, and conferences. The Pre-K year will be a memorable and exciting time for you and your child!  Your support, communication, and cooperation are appreciated as we strive to offer your child a quality education.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns; I look forward to working with you and your Pre-K student!
