Cheryl began with Jenks Public Schools in January, 2011. She has experience as a high school business/marketing teacher, federal programs director, middle school assistant principal and elementary principal in Arizona. She also has previous experience teaching and managing an entrepreneurial studies program at Haskell Indian Nations University as well as being a business consultant for minority businesses with the Metropolitan Tulsa Urban League. She has held various state-wide board memberships/offices as well as participated in Leadership Tulsa and Leadership Lawrence.
Cheryl holds a bachelors degree in Management from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, and an M.B.A. in Management from the University of Tulsa. She has been married for 27 years and has a 10 year old son.
Cheryl, who is Navajo/Irish, is born of the Mud Clan (mother’s clan), born for the Many Goats Clan (father’s clan), her maternal grandfather’s clan is Zuni Edgewater, and her paternal grandfather’s clan is Mescalero Apache. She is married to a Cherokee/Choctaw and their son is their little “Navakee.”
