Substitute Orientation Scheduled

The next Substitute Orientation will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2016.

 Paperwork must be submitted prior to the orientation.

Additional orientation dates for Spring 2016:

    January 20

    February 4

    February 24

    March 22


Individuals interested in substituting for Jenks Public Schools must complete the application process and attend a Substitute Orientation prior to being selected to substitute in the district.     Please follow the below steps:

Step 1: Complete an online application for employment on the JPS website.
Go to the JPS home page ( and click on Employment.

If you have not created an account in the past, click on the Substitute Teacher, ECA, or Paraprofessional Job Title and follow the steps outlined in the online system to complete a substitute application.

Step 2: Complete the JPS Substitute Packet. You may print the packet from this page, fill in highlighted areas online and print the packet,  or pick up a copy at the JPS Substitute Office.

Step 3: Visit the JPS Substitute Office to register for the Substitute Orientation.       You must call for an appointment and register in person.   Please contact Jan Steger Wasson at 918-299-4700 to set up an appointment.  The Sub Office is located in the Education Service Center at 211 East A Street in Jenks. Office hours are 6:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. The deadline for registering for the February 24, 2016  orientation is Monday, February 22, 2016.  The following will be required for registration:

  1. A completed Substitute Packet
  2. Proof of education (Transcript or Diploma)
  3. Current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate (if applicable)
  4. Driver's License or other government issued ID
  5. Social Security Card
  6. Voided check for Direct Deposit
    The deadline for registration:  Monday, February 22, 2016

Step 4: Attend Substitute Orientation. The next orientation will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2016.   However, individuals must complete the steps above to attend.  Additionally, attendees at the orientation will be required to be fingerprinted for a national background check as required by Oklahoma state law. Individuals who have completed a background check in another district within the past 12 months should notify the Sub Office prior to orientation.
