District Mission: Jenks Public Schools, inspired by a tradition of excellence, is committed to the shared responsibility of preparing all learners for productive, responsible citizenship in an ever-changing world.
Jenks Public Schools Goal Statements for 2010-2013
Goal I: Achieve Excellence in the Five "A's": Academics, Activities, Attitude, the Arts, and Athletics
By 2013 Jenks Public Schools students will experience success in the Five "A's" as measured by
- Improving the four-year Graduation Rate by five percent
- Meeting state and federal targets for student performance on OCCT and EOI tests at all sites and for all subgroups
- Encouraging student participation in rigorous coursework so that 80 percent of all students complete Algebra I or a more rigorous math course by the end of 8th grade and 65 percent of students graduate having completed at least one Advanced Placement course
- Ensuring that all students participate in one or more co-curricular organizations in the areas of activities, athletics, and/or the arts
- Reducing out of school suspensions by ten percent
- Developing and benchmarking a student engagement survey instrument
- Achieving Silver or higher Healthy and Fit Schools designations at all sites
Goal II: Focus on Fiscal Stability
By 2013 Jenks Public Schools will maximize fiscal stability as measured by
- Maintaining a Fund Balance of eight percent
- Increasing participation on the Select Finance Committee to 40 staff members and patrons annually
- Conducting a Bond Issue Task Force process that involves 50 staff members and patrons annually
- Developing a membership base for the Parent Legislative Action Committee that includes 24 active members
Goal III: Realize A Vision for Tomorrow
By 2013 Jenks Public Schools will realize its "vision for tomorrow" as measured by
- Increasing staff member involvement in professional learning opportunities by 20 percent in order to continue the district's growth as a professional learning community
- Increasing opportunities for use of 21st Century learning tools by students by insuring that all classrooms have access to interactive white board technology and that a two to one ratio of computers to students is achieved
- Facilitating ease of access to data for informed decision-making by implementing a data warehouse system and providing related professional development
- Improving the aggregate score for the Communications Domain on district-wide surveys from 3.97 to 4.02
- Promoting parent involvement by increasing volunteer hours contributed by 10 percent and Safe Homes program participation by 25 percent
