Roger Wright joined the Jenks Public School District as a high school Agricultural Sciences instructor and the FFA/4H Club advisor in 1987. He was named Jenks High School Teacher of the Year twice, Jenks Public Schools' Teacher of the Year in 1993 and was an "Oklahoma Teacher of the Year" finalist in 1994. In 1996, Mr. Wright was selected to be the District's Director of Community Education programs and led in that role until June of 2000. Mr. Wright was then identified to lead as an Executive Administrator, supervising various School and Community Services, July of 2000 to February of 2015. He currently serves as Executive Administrator of School Operations, March 2015.
During his tenure, Mr. Wright has supervised a number of District programs and areas in the past including the Night School, Saturday School, Secondary and Elementary Summer Schools, Parent-Care-Center, Parents-As-Teachers, Three-year-old Community Preschool, Family Literacy programs, Adult Education, Adult English Language Development, Work-Based Education, GED Test Preparation, District Testing Center, Community Education Department, Drivers Education, Jenks Trojan Aquatic Center, Jenks Planetarium, Master's Swimming, Jenks Gymnastics and the District’s Aquatic facilities.
Mr. Wright now serves as the District's school law resource person, land/property manager, property identification and purchasing agent, Safety Officer, Emergency Preparedness Officer, School Emergency Response Team Leader, Oklahoma Department of Labor and PEOSH/OSHA Compliance Officer, Facilities Management and Transportation Department Departments.
He received his Associate of Science degree from Northeastern Oklahoma A & M in Forest Management (Miami, Oklahoma) and his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Oklahoma State University in the Collage of Agricultural Sciences, Conservation and Natural Resource Management (Stillwater, Oklahoma).
Mr. Wright currently holds Oklahoma teaching certification in Earth Sciences, General Sciences, Physical Sciences, Drivers/Safety Education and Vocational Agriculture. He also holds current Oklahoma school administration certifications in School Superintendent, Secondary Principal, Middle Level Principal and Elementary Principal.
He married his wife, Mary Ann, in 1994. Ms. Wright retired as a reading specialist in the Sperry Public School District (Sperry, Oklahoma) in 2013. Mr. and Mrs. Wright have two daughters, Jessie and Millie, and working together they own and operate a small farm/ranch in Mounds, Oklahoma. On the Wright's acreage one will find Angus commercial cattle, registered Boer goats and a commercial Bermuda hay operation.
