Doug Karnes

Director of Purchasing     

Doug began his employment with the District in 2009. Doug oversees the operations of the purchasing department. The purchasing department helps negotiate contracts, solicit bids, and initiate improved vendor relations and pricing.
     Doug administers the district's P-Card and Fixed Assets programs. Doug is happy to assists district employees to understand and apply established purchasing policy, practices and pre-arranged pricing programs to bring value to the students and patrons of Jenks Public Schools on a daily basis.
     After spending almost 25 years in the private sector, Doug enjoys combining the best practices of the public and private sector. As a result of his passion for implementing and leading continuous improvement cultures in other settings, Doug enjoys applying the tenants of reduced waste and employee training & involvement to enhance the excellence and vision of the Jenks education experience.

     Doug enjoys spending time with his wife, son, daughter-in-law, and his grand-daughters Allison & Meredith. Doug’s favorite past-times include; TRAVEL, the Chicago Cubs, attending OSU sporting events, and playing music.
