Congratulations to Coach Ron Acebo

Ron was selected as the USTA Oklahoma Outstanding High School Coach.  The narrative of his selection reads “Ron has been the Jenks High School varsity girls/boys coach since 2007.  Both boys and girl’s teams have been Regional Champions all 10 years.  He boasts 5 Girls Team Championships, and 2 Boys Team Championships.  In 2016, Jenks boys and girl’s teams won Oklahoma State Championships.  Jenks High School Tennis has been consistently in the top 3 High School Teams every year he has been coach.  Ron is a 6-time winner of the Tulsa Worlds Coach of the Year for his teams continuing success. Ron is the 2016 OSSAA Coach of the Year, and the 2016 National Federation of High School Coaches Sectional Coach of the Year.  Ron is dedicated to his team’s success and his love of tennis.  Ron Acebo also organizes and runs (24 Hours of Tennis) where his teams play sponsored tennis for 24 hours with proceeds going to the Susan G Komen organization to raise funds for breast cancer research, to cancer patients of Jenks High School and to raise money beloved Jenks Football Coach, Alan Trimble, who is suffering from ALS.  He has had his teams participate in USAT Junior Team Tennis, and serves as coach in that forum.  Ron plays on many USTA Oklahoma teams, and has competed in many District and Sectional Championships.  He is an excellent coach and wonderful example of spreading the love of tennis through the young people he coaches and in the community where he lives”.  Ron continues to excel as one of the excellent teachers at Jenks High School and he continues to mentor and inspire students every year.
