Thank You JPS Board Members!
January was National School Board Recognition Month and Jenks Public Schools would like to extend a very sincere thank you to each one of the five members of the Board of Education for their continued service and commitment to the success of all JPS' students, employees, and school sites.
MELISSA ABDO - PRESIDENT
"I believe my role as a board member is to advocate, share feedback, and set policies which support an innovative learning environment for all students. Recognizing hard work, and celebrating the accomplishments of our students and employees is definitely the most rewarding part of this job!"
RON BARBER - VICE PRESIDENT
"The people of this community take extraordinary pride in the quality of our schools. It is a tremendous privilege to serve all the stakeholders in this great District, and it is a responsibility I do not take for granted. I’m fortunate to serve with a dedicated group of board members, and I am continually encouraged and impressed by the achievements of our students, the knowledge of our teachers, and the vision of our administrators. It is an honor to play a small part in the success of Jenks Public Schools.”
CHUCK FORBES - MEMBER
"My role as a Jenks School Board Member means a lot to me. Helping make decisions that affect my kids education is something I do not take lightly. The most rewarding part as a school board member is handing out diplomas to our graduating seniors. Their smiling faces are a reminder of the impact we have on their lives."
TRACY KENNEDY - MEMBER
"When I became a board member, I was quickly able to experience the extremely high level of professionalism and passion which exists at all levels and at all sites in our District. I am so proud to work with my fellow board members, administrators, teachers, and staff to ensure an outstanding educational experience for the 12,000 students who walk through our doors every single day."
TERRY KEELING - MEMBER
"I made the decision to serve on the Board of Education because I wanted to give something back to our community. As a business owner, I have focused on my own interests for a long time and I view this role as an opportunity to support our schools and to provide support for the vision of the current administration. I have gained a better understanding for the magnitude of the task of educating our children, and I truly appreciate the relationships I've formed with our exceptional educators and administrators."
