Story image 1_0

Rodney Tisdale is beginning his 2nd year as a Jenks Trojan. A native of Ft. Worth, Texas, Coach Tisdale came to Tulsa before starting high school.   He attended Tulsa Central High and became “King Daze” as well as winning a state championship his senior year. After graduating from Tulsa Central High in 1992, Coach Tisdale went to play college basketball for Southeast Community College in Beatrice Nebraska. After graduating from Southeast, Coach Tisdale accepted a scholarship to play division one basketball for South Alabama University in Mobile, Alabama. Rodney then left to play Semi-Pro Basketball for The Fargo Beez. Rodney moved back to Tulsa and started training players before accepting a coaching position at Edison Middle School where his teams won the girls basketball city championship two years in a row. Coach Tisdale then moved to Cascia Hall coaching middle school basketball while continuing to coach AAU basketball in the summer.  Coach Tisdale made a hard choice to leave Cascia Hall and come join the Jenks family in 2015 to coach the 9th Grade White Trojan basketball. After a successful season, Rodney was asked to move up to be a high school assistant coach.  Coach Tisdale is the Public Education Officer for the Tulsa Fire Department, where he has sworn to protect and serve over 12 years. Rodney has two handsome Jenks Trojan sons: Trendon (15) and Tytus (13).
