Varsity Boys Head Coach Clay Martin
Clay Martin begins his 13th season as the varsity head boys coach. A native Tulsan, Coach Martin graduated from Nathan Hale High School where he was an All-State football and basketball player. Coach Martin began his collegiate career at the University of Tulsa where he played receiver on the Golden Hurricane football team. Coach transferred to Oklahoma Baptist University where he was a four-year starter at point guard for the Bison. Martin was an all-conference player for four years and was selected as a NAIA All American his senior season. In 2011, Coach Martin was inducted into the OBU Athletics Hall of Fame. Martin began his coaching career as an assistant coach at the University of Texas-Pan American serving under Bob Hoffman. In 2003 at the age of 28, Martin was named head coach of the Jenks Trojans. Martin and his staff have been a part of 220 victories and seven trips to the state tournament, both representing the most in Jenks basketball history. In 2009, the Trojans broke five school records on their way to a 27-2 finish, the best record in school history before falling in the state championship game. Martin’s overall record at Jenks is 220-94. In addition to his coaching duties, Coach Martin serves as an Assistant Athletics Director for Jenks Community Education, and is an official in the National Football League. Coach Martin has been married to his wife, Shannon for 19 years. The couple has two children: McKenzie (17) and Chase (14).
