Sarah Cameron Accepted to Every Ivy League School
What began as a goal at Jenks Middle School has suddenly turned into a dream realized for Jenks High School senior, Sarah Cameron.
A National Merit Finalist and standout on the Jenks tennis team, Cameron has been accepted to every single Ivy League school. Although she can attend any of the eight prestigious institutions - Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, or Yale - Cameron says she has it narrowed down to Harvard, Princeton, and Yale. She'll visit all three campuses later this month.
"It really hasn't hit me yet," said Cameron with a smile. "I've been so busy, I just haven't had a chance to sit down and process this, but it is completely overwhelming and obviously shocking. I don't think I really believed this was possible so I'm very grateful for the opportunities and looking forward to what the future might hold."
Cameron, who admits she actually loves to study, has always wanted to push herself to, as she puts it, "be the best version of myself that I can." The 18-year old credits Mr. Engle's AP World History class with teaching her how to study more effectively, how to manage her time, and most importantly, how to work hard for what you want.
"None of this would be possible without the help of my teachers, my coaches, and everyone at Jenks who has helped me to this point," stated Cameron, a Jenks lifer. "While I'm very excited to be starting college, I'm also sad to be leaving this place that has meant so much to me over the years."
Although she hasn't decided on a major, Cameron says she is leaning toward a degree in business, law, or government.
